The EIA is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), EIA provides a forum for industry to develop standards and publications in major technical areas: electronic components, consumer electronics, electronic information, telecommunications, and Internet security. All Star Case EIA Rackmount Cases are built in strict conformance to standards set forth by the EIA. If your components were built in conformance to the EIA, they will fit perfectly in Star Case rack cases. |

The ATA (Air Transport Association) is a guideline for rating the reusability of packaging. All Star Case types with the exception of our Carry Star line meet or exceed the testing procedures called out by this specification (ATA Specification 300, Category I.) Note also, that the ATA offers a total of three compliance levels for road cases & packaging. The following chart explains these compliance levels: |

The outer wall of all STAR CASE rackmount cases is actually a combination of two different materials. First, we take smooth finish premium grade plywood sheets measuring 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, or 1/2 inch thickness (depending on case "type" you choose) and apply a proprietary stucco finish fiberglass material. This fiberglass finish (standard, no additional cost) forms the outer protective surface which protects against the day-to-day scrapes, dings and dents which occur when transporting your valuables. Together, these two materials form an incredibly tough case panel which will not separate due to intense heat or cold and resist fading due to the harsh affects of excessive exposure to direct sunlight. The stucco finish of the STAR CASE fiberglass surface demonstrates the excellent strength and durability features not available with any other surface material. STAR CASE does not use ABS plastic or other outer surface materials known to be adversely affected by variations in temperature or exposure to direct sunlight.
